A Novelette
Megan is plagued by bizarre and intrusive thoughts after losing her mother. She finds it challenging to cope with grief and living without her mother. Most days, she is tormented by the pain of loss. Her restless mind is looking for something or someone to reason out. She finds no solace until she thinks she found God.
A supernatural being encourages her to meditate. Within her meditative state, she is led on a journey. She crosses realms with the hope of meeting her mother.

About the Author
Marieannette Pereira-Fernandes is an Indie Author and Poet from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She writes melancholic poetry and fiction for readers who grieve and long for someone or something. She holds a BA degree in English Literature and Psychology from Mumbai University. Marieannette has published a Novelette, "Journeying Towards The Light", a Short Story, “That Struggle, That Smile”, a Poetry Collection, “Broken Cold”, and a Poetry Chapbook, “Saturnine”.
In September 2026, Marieannette independently published Journeying Towards The Light: A Novelette. It is a compelling, character-driven novelette that aesthetically blends deep grief with magical realism.
